Did anyone else want to smack Scarlett? (Spoiler)

Scarlett was one of those characters you just want to take into a room and smack in the head repeatedly. What an annoying person - how many people died because of her idiocy!? At least George survived, especially since he told her about a hundred times he didn't want to go down in the catacombs.

Aside from her, the movie was pretty good, and I'll probably watch it again to pick up on some things I might have missed the first time around.

Man, she was annoying.

reply

What about her idiocy?
You mean wanting to go into the catacombs when they hired the Mole specifically for that?

reply

I wanted to smack Benji more.

reply

Yes. Oh god. I wanted to drop kick her. She was annoying the moment she started talking I knew I would hate her character.

reply

She wasn't that annoying to me

but there were DEFINTELY some moments when I was like WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR GODS SAKE

then realize how much I am enjoying the movie to make me feel this way haha

all in all though I thought it was a fantastic movie.

reply

her accent is horrible

i've got feelings too, ya know - inbetweeners

reply

Um, her accent in English, or her accent in French? lol

reply

Yeah her character plus the actress playing her made me wanna slap her the entire time. Annoying character----selfish, pretentious, self-centered, cold, ruthless, only came to terms with her mistakes when she basically had to at the last minutes IN HELL after she found the stone. Who leaves a boyfriend in a turkish jail? She didn't even try bail him out? She just left? They didn't imply if she tried to bail him out or not but she said "I'm sorry I left you" which to me implies, he was landed in a turkish jail because of one of her stupid ruthless adventures and then she just left. And her face is annoying, her accent (i normally like british accents, on her it sounded pretentious and irritating) Glad others agree with me.

reply

Jealous of her because she's prettier than you are sweetheart? I smell envy.

reply

I'd rather slap you and others like you. Why can't most people these days just watch, immerse themselves and suspend their disbelief? Watching movies with you guys must really suck

No offense intended m|m

reply

Because in a film where people are fighting to survive you become more immersed in the film if you can root for them.

If they are annoying you want them to die and their presence on screen can detract from the film.

Every been somewhere and there's that one person who is getting on your nerves.
They aren't near you or talking to you, you don't know them so what does it matter what they are saying or dong yet they just irritate you.

That's what's happening. If the hero is a pain in the arse, isn't deserving to be the hero then who am I rooting for?
I no longer care if they survive I'm only watching to see them die and through that I no longer care about the stone

reply

Scarlett reminded me of those self centered kids who do not listen to anyone. They race ahead ripping and tearing open anything their eyes light on. Why? Because by God they want to.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

reply

Seconded.

Though I also didn't like Scarlett because of her behaviour I have to agree with you. It's nothing new, people also loved to complain about Heather in 'The Blair Witch' project, who is a similar character. They don't get that these characters are supposed to create conflict.

reply

And they didn't hire the mole. The mole disappeared in there years ago. They hired pap. Pay attention dummies, your criticism might carry more weight

reply

She did manage to pull a few "what is your problem" inquires out of me.
