Blacks promoting black stereotypes
Ride Along 2 was directed by a black. It promotes the very stereotypes that black people claim to be against.

shareWell, I disagree that there were black stereotypes. In fact, the big drug dealer in Atlanta was a white guy named Troy who drove a lime green truck. That is pretty weird. The big villain is from Latin America. The computer nerd is an Asian guy who has women everywhere, so despite being a nerd he is also a chick magnet. And then we have Ben, who has a dream board and Pintrest wedding page. It's all pretty diverse and maybe represents the true US better than stereotypes do.
Anyway, I thought it was pretty funny. The plot was way too thin, though. I wish they had put as much time there as they did making it visually interesting. It was colorful and very funny, but in the end, James is allowed to take a rookie beat cop with him on an investigation to bust a large-scale drug dealer: no way. And the real plot is that Benjamin Bratt is determined to find and kill the hacker who took $1 million from him. It seems sort of a side issue when you consider what else this guy is trying to pull off. I guess because there weren't any Russians or Eastern Europe types (talk about a stereotype!) I didn't take Bratt seriously in his "international drug cartel" thing.
So. My thoughts.
