Blacks promoting black stereotypes

Ride Along 2 was directed by a black. It promotes the very stereotypes that black people claim to be against.

Studios decide what makes it onto the screen. Blacks don't make those decisions.

Oh I wish Hollywood would stop stereotyping blacks as cops, so degrading. *sarcasm*

You have been CRURNED!

reply

As long as a black person directs it, it's Ok to promote such crap stereotypes. If a white person directed it, there would be hell to pay. Kind of a double standard.

reply

Double standards in Hollywood, say it is not so.

reply

Oh don't get me started about Hollywood...it's all so tiring.

LOL

And gamers, I guess.

reply

It's not racist if they do it. Just to paraphrase Ken Jeong in the movie.

WE GOT MOVIE SIIIIIGN!

That double-standard made me chuckle. lol

Some people in this thread seriously need to STFU. Obviously their issues with race are coming to the forefront. I didn't see any negative black stereotypes. Take a look at this movie. James and Ben are both a detective and police officer. Tyrese's character was a police officer.

Ben and Angela are getting married not out of wedlock but because they love each other. Even Cori is a wedding planner who puts together extravagant and lavish weddings. Where are the black stereotypes in anything I just stated?

I'm getting a feeling that a mainly black cast maybe a reason the movie is viewed so badly in the first place. I saw the first Ride Along awhile ago and gave it 9/10. Ride Along 2 isn't better than the first imo but I still gave 2 7/10. I also was a little shocked that it received such bad reviews.

I don't know where people are going when saying that this is promoting black stereotypes when I can tell you I'm black and I don't know ANY black cops or wedding planners. The roles in this film are interchangeable with any race imo.

What stereotypes does this movie promote?

reply

Um...what were the negative black stereotypes?

reply

Yep, and they call everyone else racist. Western black people are the only people in the world who talk about skin colour 24/7. If that isn't racist, what is? Its just like the Jews ranting til the end of time about the utterly exaggerated holocaust & the alleged 6 million killed there, when they've killed more people in Palestine themselves. Why should there be any sympathy for hypocrites like this?
