How old are the girls?

I was just wondering how old the pregnant girls are meant to be? They keep saying they're minors, which to me means under 18, but some of them look like they're 30!

They do? Shirley is in her 30ies but the other actresses are in their early or mid 20ies as far as I know.

You have to remember the show takes place in the 60ies. Even grown women weren't treated as adults and independent at the time, including by their government.
And the age of consent was 21 in some parts of Australia.

Back then minor usually meant under 21 in many places, especially for single women. I know my mom was almost 20 when she went to get married to my dad (who was 19) at the end of 1970 and they had to go all the way to North Carolina (from St Louis) to find a state that didn't require parental consent to marry people who weren't 21 yet.
