I'll start with saying that I have no real evidence of it going this way. Just a hunch. And (I may be wrong) I can't think of anything that's happened so far that would absolutely prevent it from being true.

We'll find out more about Dot and Roy's history. Maybe his first wife was sick, and Dot came in as a nurse/cult member, finished off Wife 1, took her place, Roy later found out, Dot ran. So we'll come to root for him instead of her. Illustrating today's politics or something.

Rooting for Roy when we've seen him slap his current woman hard in the face and we've seen photos of the results of his beatings of Dot?

That would be one hell of a turnaround...

...more possible is that Jennifer Jason Leigh's right wing power woman goes after Roy for his treatment of Dot...whom JJL at this point in the series detests and distrusts..but that could change. (I'm as far as episode 6.)
