Wouldn't the money laundering conspiracy uncovered by the IRS mean that Mrs. Goldfarb, who is working for Varga, also go down? Varga had to make a break for it, and Emmitt escapes serous punishment because they removed him from their company's bureaucracy before the IRS got the evidence. Wouldn't she be arrested?

shareIt never made any sense to me. Once the insolvency of the company came to light, all assets would have been seized by the court to be distributed to creditors. There would have been nothing for Mrs. Goldfarb to receive 'for 100K'.
It just seems like sloppy writing to me, insinuating that she was either running or run by Varga, and somehow getting away with it. No dice.
Yeah pretty much. The legal system is always hilariously incompetent in these shows. Rule of Drama, I guess. But it sure as hell ain't Gritty Realism.

Since Varga actually did set aside wealth for Emmit in a foreign shelter, I assumed he did the same for Goldfarb, who was a willing participant and added value to the enterprise, unlike Emmit, who was a draftee.
"Goldfarb" in German/Yiddish means "color of gold." Reminded me of the KC mob guy in another season, named "Mr. Gold."
