Malvo or Milligan?

Milligan.

Billy Bob Thornton is the superior actor, without question. But Malvo was too much for me. OTT satanic. Completely lacked any subtlety.

I liked Milligan because he was enjoyable and poetic while still being recognizably human.

Game recognize game and you lookin' kinda unfamiliar right now.

Malvo was basically Anton Chigurh with added humour so when it came to writing Milligan, they were probably pretty conscious of creating someone who stood apart instead of just a 70s rehash of the same character.

If you put a gun to my head, I'd go with Malvo. I just found him more entertaining.

I loved the final scene for Milligan, though.

Malvo is Milligan on steroids ! While Milligan was extremely funny in his La-Di-Da way, quoting obscure facts amid all the chaos, Malvo is a straight up psycho. Milligan was a middle management corporate type in a criminal enterprise, yet in his capacity as an enforcer he would often have to be somewhat compromising. Malvo on the other hand, was an independent contractor who was totaling uncompromising in his work. Malvo was a sociopath and represents pure evil, while Milligan clearly no choirboy, was a miscreant but not on Malvo's level. Malvo seems far more sadistic in his approach than Milligan. Consequently, if it's evil your looking for, it's Malvo, if it's entertaining it's Milligan.

Malvo, he was just a force of nature.

reply

Milligan, because a bad guy whose name is a play on the word 'Malevolent' is a little bit too much for me.
