Who would you like to see return from season 1? I imagine the deaf hit man will return, and the guy from Better Call Saul as the Sheriff, that's a long shot but it would be cool.

I imagine Gus and Molly might return at least in a small roll

Sorry, folks, about my maybe stupid theory: isn't Season 2 in fact a "prequel" to Season 1?! Here we do have a "Molly Solverson", but she's now a child, the daughter of Lou and Betsy; that same Lou (played then by Keith Carradine) was in Season 1 the retired sheriff, the widower (of his wife Betsy, suffering of cancer) and owner of a diner. So Gus, Molly's future husband (in Season 1), is unlikely to return in this season...

I wouldn't call it a "theory" at all, as the show made it explicitly clear. The first season took place in 2006, while the second season took place in 1979 and showed us much younger versions of Lou and Molly.

So Gus, Molly's future husband (in Season 1), is unlikely to return in this season...

There's a problem with your logic here, however. From what I have read, season 3 will take place in 2010, four years after the first season, so it is indeed possible for Gus to appear.

If Bob Odenkirk wasn't busy with Better Call Saul, I would have liked to see an entire season built around his clueless-but-well-meaning season one character of "Bill Oswalt". I think there could be layers of complexity added to Chief Oswalt, as we saw in the story he told of the foster kid from Senegal he sponsored -- and I think Bob Odenkirk has the acting ability to effectively add those layers.

But I doubt it would happen because he's busy with both Better Call Saul and his Netflix show "w/Bob and Dave" (which is a redo of his classic HBO sketch comedy series "Mr. Show with Bob and Dave").
