season 1: what happened to the used car salesman?
Last you see of him is he is begging not to be killed because he has a little girl. You never see a body or him running away....or did I miss something?

shareI wonder the same thing
shareLater when Malvo runs away he escapes in the FBI agent's car and we see that the salesman's car is already gone. So I can only assume that he drove away.
shareHe is stonecold so I'd be surprised if he did not kill him.
shareI wouldn't be that surprised if Malvo spared his life; this is a character who loves scarring people for life. The idea of the salesman looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life would be too good to snuff it out with a bullet.
shareI thought at first the body he was dragging was one of the fantastic federal agents, but I tried to look closer at the pants and shoes to see if it was the salesman.
Kinda like American psycho when he walked with the girl juxtaposed to the bloody sheets. Anyway, I thought for sure he died solely because of the fact he was trying to get life insurance in episode 1, but unsuccessfully.

I cant figure this one out. if I'm not mistaken, his car was gone as malvo fled. if that is true (and tell me if I missed something) then the salesman fled.

shareNoah Hawley has said that he believes this character survives. If he does die, it's the only death in Fargo not depicted on screen.
The character likely exists, if you believe that the story told on screen is a recreated "true story" in the show's own universe, to serve as a witness to some events. Note for example that he was the last person to see Lorne alive apart from Gus, and the only person who can attest to the scheme which killed the two FBI agents. He also knew Lester from previously refusing insurance from him.
Given the above, you might find it interesting or not coincidental that the couple (named just "Young Man" and "Young Woman" which is unique for all characters in Fargo, even those with no lines) seem to be about the age that Noah Hawley and his pregnant wife were in 2006.
