You can not compaire the dark humour and way of directing that John Waters did on Serial Mom (this, so you won't be disappointed watching Home Sweet Hell), but a comparison came to my mind also.

No. This movie is nothing like Serial Mom. Serial Mom was played purely for laughs and contained a minimum of gore. Home Sweet Hell is much more realistic and gory.

I thought of very bad things with christian slater. It's not the same theme but the same tone. A dark entertaining comedy that makes you uncomfortable at times.
