I don't get it..

Why do they have to kill her if the wife already knows? The whole point was that she was threatening to tell her, and then she finds out anyways.. So doesn't that kind of ruin the plot?

reply

we didnt see much in the trailer. There could be other motivation, like her threatening to go to the press that hes molesting his staff or something.

reply

I think because she wants to stay married for the purpose of looking like their marriage is perfect to outsiders so it getting out her hubby slept with someone and got her pregnant is not going to happen

reply

Exactly. She also doesn't want there to be anyone else in his life. She's obviously got some mental issues.

reply

There have been many cases of women getting their boyfriend or husband to kill the skank he fooled around with or even just some girl he flirted with.

reply

If the husband/boyfriend is fooling around when in a relationship, i m pretty sure that makes HIM the "skank" as you so eloquently put it. Whoever is in a relationship and cheats is in the wrong regardless of gender. Can't have your hypocritical double standards for us men because it makes us look blameless and brainless. Funny though that there are still ppl like you out there

I agree 100%, the one who cheats is the culprit, in this case, Don. I really don't get the mentality of blaming the other women for 'seducing' their guy. Really pathetic. Then again, how many guys died in duels in 19'th century for 'being improper with someone's wife'? Again, pathetic.

Generally I agree that the one who cheats is the skank. But Dusty had no interest in Don and had a boyfriend that put her up to the honeypot scam. Dusty deliberately seduced him to trick him into thinking she was pregnant with his child to extort him for money. That's kinda skanky, no? So they are both skanks.

reply

Yeah, no doubt that Dusty is a wh**e, but she didn't rape him, so he is to blame for the affair. They are both scum, most like everyone in this film.

reply

At the very least, clearly she's pissed off at the situation and loathes "the hooker." Aaaaaand since she's a psycho, she wishes to kill her. Easy enough.

Mona wanted Dusty to be killed because:

1. She was believed that Dusty was pregnant and didn't want the shame of her husband having an illegitimate child with another woman. She said: "I will not have my husband father a bastard. I will not put my children through that. I will not put myself through that. What will my friends think? What will the community think? We'd be the laughing stock of this entire city".

2. Don was going to let Dusty extort him for $13,000 which was increased to $25,000 and Mona thought that she and their children "deserved better than that". She said "what are you gonna do about it?" When Don asked if she was sure there wasn't another way than killing her, Mona said "there is only ever my way".

3. Most importantly, Mona was a sociopath.

Poor script writing but... Because Heigl wanted Wilson to prove that he did in fact regret cheating on her and the best way to doing that was killing the woman he had an affair with.

But yeah hardly a thoughtworthy movie by any means.

Why are you keeping this curiosity door locked?
