Anyone could have been Patrick Wilson's character

Anybody at all in the movie could have been cast with different people... whats your point?

That's why Patrick Wilson gets hired so often, he fits the "every man role" but is also recognizable.

All actors put their own spin on a role.

Patrick Wilson was darn good playing wimpy, freaked-out and terrified.

They should have picked someone that's good at comedy. I kept asking myself why he's acting so poorly when I know he's a brilliant dramatic actor. He either was directed that way, can't do comedy or gave zero Fs.

Sure, they could have cast someone else to play his role. For that matter they could have cast other actors to play all the roles. What I like about the casting of Patrick, though, is that it shows yet another side of his acting. This guy is all over the map when it comes to acting roles - i.e. musicals, dark comedy, horror, suspense, action hero .....

Many people probably think of him as a lead actor, but in essence he seems to be the ultimate character actor. Will be interested in seeing what other genres he attempts.
