Okay, it wasn't scary at all, but the comedy was great and the acting, script and production values were really good for an over the top indie horror comedy.
I can't believe this is only a 4.7 on imdb. It should be right at a solid 6.0.
Not even close to being a good horror/comedy. They killed the only likeable character(the blonde), gave no payoffs to introduced plot lines(blonde being cheated on by her friend), and that Peter Gilroy who never takes off that goddamn hat.
Sure the film had its humorous moments, namely Smyth and the John Mayer/Bill Burr bits, but other than that it was a lackluster film that wouldn't even be top rate on the Sy Fy channel.
You want good horror/comedies? Evil Dead 2, Gremlins, Slither, They Live, etc. You want more recent examples? Cabin in the Woods, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, Housebound, Trick R Treat.
Horror comedy is a tough genre to master, and in this case, it fell short. You can have a B movie and still have great writing(Which this did not). I an see if your film sets out to be a plotless gorefest or 'hilarious romp', but don't introduce plot lines you'll never pay off.
But that's just my opinion.
I've never seen that. I've never seen anybody drive their garbage down to the street and bang the hell out of it with a stick. I-I've never seen that.
I mostly agree with areyouserious123 except I absolutely hated Slither as a recommendation. I thought the beavers were cool but they were barely in it. The one chick I liked and one guy I liked were the first to die while Peter Gilroy's character maybe one of the most annoying characters I've ever seen in a horror movie, and that's saying a lot
I agree completely! I was laughing so hard during this, its the best spoof movie in a LONG time. I expected this to be around at a high 5 or low 6 on imdb but this is crazy. Personally I think it's a solid 8/10 for what it is.
Agree we watched this today and laughed the entire time. It's not supposed to be taken as cinema gold. It was a fun, silly, goofball movie. That's it. People take movies way to seriously.
