Angst-Inducing
Okay so I get the point of the movie is tongue-in-cheek creature feature. I'm good with that, I'm strapped in. The more it sucks, the better it's going to be.
And it hits some of the right notes. But as self-aware as it is, it doesn't quite suck enough to live up to its promise. It's manufactured. The best version of this movie would feature a cast and crew who were doing this as if it were Citizen Kane, no snark intended.
But if it ultimately fails and winds up not being very good, doesn't that make it live up to the premise of sucking? Isn't kinda failing the point?
The self-aware angle really makes the movie stand out as bad, which in turn might ave saved it. Gah.
