I was just thinking about him :( he should still be alive unless something happened to him a mention would have been nice
shareI don't think its safe to say that he should still be alive. After all its been nearly a decade since she's been back home, and if you include the 3 years covered in the show you're looking at Backup being at least 12. But seeing as how even in the pilot episode he wasn't a puppy, and he was quite clearly very trained (something that takes quite a while) he could have been anywhere from 1 year old on up, so at the very least he would have been 13 or 14, which is generally the tail end of the life expectancy of a pit bull. So he certainly could still be alive, but the odds are generally not in his favor.
But like you said, a mention would have been nice.

shareI was also disappointed. I loved Backup, I wish they had mentioned him. If the first backup was gone, they could have used another similar pitbull.
