He seems to have defended Trump in the debate, but he must be betting against him. He's thinking Trump's legal woes will keep Trump out of the race, because otherwise he has no chance, for who would vote for a faux Trump when the real one is available? But in the meantime Ramaswamy hopes to capture Trump's base and thereby vault over everyone else. Seems like a rather cynical ploy.
