I think, due to the comedy, you're being thrown off a bit. Ludo is not on the good side, his minions may have some good, but Ludo is after the star for evil. He'd be a tyrant if he wasn't so stupid and lacked power.
I think you also forgot about the school. It's basically an institution for brainwashing, and the episode that focused on it ended with a bit of a cliffhanger.
But yeah, the show does flirt with the duality of man a bit. But there is certainly evil present in the show.
Let's not forget about Toffee who, while his motives may be ambiguous, he's definitely not opposed to getting pretty dark in order to achieve an end.
