A poor remake of a show that was already cancelled

Well, I never saw Best Friends Forever, but the plots look very similar, in a different location, and adding the pregnancy to the mix.

The talent in this looks great, but the end result is fairly annoying. The two BFFs have arguments that are so "sitcom" that they are more eye roll than funny. If Lennon and Jessica were the ones who wrote these two BFF characters, then these women writers must hate women... because both characters are completely unlikable. Neither one are anything more than insecure, always moaning, always nervousing over their life, sitcom women with more wine and estrogen than brains.

The "things in the butt" joke was astoundingly cheap. The "OMG it was HERRRRRRRR that put the nursery together *sob*" moment laughable. The "old flame" setup appalling, and the old stalker character idiotic. Not to mention the "stop her before she gets to the airport" ending being so ri-goddam-diculous.

I can only assume that Keegan-Michael Key had no part in the writing of this, considering his Comedy Central show doesn't usually take such cheap character directions.

I disagree with your review. This show is a breath of fresh air!

To whom????????????????????????????

Well, I never saw Best Friends Forever...

Yet you're whining that this is a cheap remake of it? Seriously?

See how that works?

That's the most important part of the post for you? SERIOUSLY? Did it make you drop the match sticks?

Anyway, no, I never saw it, but that isn't really the point. Just something for you to quibble with because you enjoy the show more than I do. I did read about the previous series they made, and it does seem like it is basically a remake. I assume even you can affirm this, considering Best Friends Forever sounds like your favourite show.

Also, what is it with your racist rant about how white girls in small towns don't date black guys?

I don't know why you're so aggressively against this show. The characters are decently funny and absolutely likable. It's a sitcom, and they do sitcom things. Nobody is watching this show to discover the meaning of life... it's about cheap laughs delivered by funny and attractive people. I'll agree that the first episode was a bit weak, but it was just setting the scene. The second and third episodes were better. I'll keep watching until it gets inevitably canceled.

When I wrote this, only the first episode was available, hence the date of the post. I already posted in another thread that I thought the second episode was better written than the first. Coincidentally, the first episode, which I still think was awful, was the one written by the two stars. We won't have to suffer through their writing again until the final 2 episodes.

I don't believe this show will get picked up for another season. They have spent huge money promoting this series, and it is generating almost no return in ratings. Also, this board has very little fan response for a new show with this much promotion.

So they're not cool enough for you, right? That's funny, because I sorta think that's the point of the show. I mean, they're 2 girls who most people will think are stupid, which I find extremely funny. But some people need real stupidity to be entertained.
