Gilmore Girls

I'm enjoying the show - it's reminding me a lot of the Gilmore Girls set up. Anyone else thought the same?

Jessica was a big fan, but Lennon has never seen the show and says she won;t watch it because she doesn't want Playing House to lose it's unique style. She also probably won't watch Bunheads for the same reason.

Yessssss! They talk too fast, they live in a quirky small town where everybody's up in everyone else's business, and they're friends with a long-suffering cute guy who does them too many favors and is perfect for one of them but they can't seem to get the timing right. A strained relationship with a WASPY judgmental mom, after a long period of estrangement. Hanging out at the same restaurant. The pop-culture references in GG play out here as in-jokes (working USA's tag line into the dialogue, referencing other roles the actors have played, etc.).

Not at all...Gilmore Girls had strong and witty writing and great chemistry between the cast. Playing House(just finished S1) was decent, but neither the writing, nor the cast are really strong in any regards. The punchlines are pretty standard and have been around in other shows in similiar ways for decades.

I find it decently enjoyable to watch the show, but compared to Gilmore Girls this show is generic entertainment without soul or substance.
