Will we

learn anything tonight ?

Stuff we haven't figured out already? Unlikely. But thanks for reminding me it's tonight. Who changes the timeslot right before the finale? Madness.

Looks like they're just going to go with heavy implications never further touched upon again. I think that's about all the answers we're ever gonna get. Sort of a "you can believe it this way or not" kind of resolution.

They never outright said it but they strongly hinted that Red was her mother. What a corny ridiculous twist. So she changed her sex and morphed into a short stocky bald man.Not to mention that Red was clearly attracted to women so i guess Liz's mom must have been a lesbian or bi.Kind of felt like Lost all over again.Years of build up and when it came time for a payoff the writers gave us the finger instead.

I'm fine with the twist in concept, but there's too many plot holes presented throughout the narrative that would have made it impossible or spilled the beans. That's why I like that they played to ambivalence with the pay off. Because I can just ignore it.

It's a cheesy cliched twist that belongs on daytime tv.And given that Red has an entirely different bone structure, Something you can't alter with an operation, than Liz's mother it makes absolutely no sense. But i guess with Liz dead they don't technically have to revisit the twist. And i'd be happy if they never did.

Red has been in a number of compromising situations, subjected to many tests over the years, and even spent some time with doctors not on his payroll. It woulda come up.

I can look past things like body types not being right. This is afterall a tv show with actors and what not. I can let my suspension of disbelief unspool that far.

reply

Another obvious plot hole that's hard to ignore.Isn't Reddingtons adams apple clearly present from time to time.

reply

Wasn't there an episode years ago where Liz got Red's DNA, had it tested because she thought he was her father, and it turned out he was no blood relation?

Regardless, if they move forward with this "twist" they'll reduce the show to a parody.

reply

No, because they want the audience to keep coming back, like crack addicts.

@ People are pissed off that the narrative suggests heavily that Red is actually Katerina.

I had a hunch Keen would die and that season9 would all be about Red getting revenge but I read that Townsend die .. so I guess it will be all about protecting Agnese ( aka Keen No2 ) from the Kabal.

When series get stretch out so long they seldom deliver a plausible resolution.

Red being actually Katerina is pathetic and Red’s reluctance to tell Keen the truth for so many years doesn’t make sense.

Red said he didn’t want Keen to become a hunted criminal like himself yet ultimately HE WAS the one that pushed her onto that path refusing time again not to share the ( pathetic ) truth that He was her mother who had a gender change. 🙄
