Please Let it be True....(Spoilers)

I came here mid-episode to voice my frustration and my hope that Red would finally kill Tom, only to spoil the episode for myself. Sort of....

While it's unfortunate it wasn't Red, I really hope Tom's gone. I wish they could kill off Liz too. They're constantly bringing down the show, getting THEMSELVES into trouble, and blaming Red. It's gotten so old. And the cliffhangers about their deaths have been done to death, pun intended.

The writing has become idiotic with them. Not everything is their business, yet they constantly stick their noses where they don't belong. It's become boring. Even the whole scene wit Southern Cross playing was drawn out.

This episode was terrible. The only good thing about it was the cover of Sound of Silence. Does anyone know who sang it?

Edit: it looks like it was a band called Disturbed. Maybe I'm out of the loop, but I never heard of them. I'll have to look them up. They did a great job.

Well, they showed Tom in the morgue, toe tag and all, so I think they want to be clear - Tom is dead.

It was an odd scene to include. I couldn't tell if they were setting something up, or trying to tell the audience, "we're extra serious this time folks." Pretty sure he's really really dead. Given the state of his injuries at the time, there's no way they could fake his death in such a manner while keeping him stable.

I don't know. This show has done weirder and more improbable things than bringing Tom back to life. I would not put it past them to do it.

I agree with you. I'm thinking he's dead, and not coming back.

Just recently saw the music video of Disburb’s cover of Sound of Silence. It blew me away. Apparvently they are a metal band, but they went way outside their normal type music here. Saw an interview where the lead singer talked about how much more difficult it was to finish it, and when he finally left the sound room, the guys in the control room looked at him like he was someone they never saw before. IMO, this cover is the first one I know of that can match the impact of the original.

I actually think it's better than the original. I don't believe I've ever said that. It's almost like this is how the song was supposed to be performed. This is coming from someone who's always liked the original.

reply

Agreed. Really surprised the Disturbed version wasn’t an immediate hit. Going to be looking into other music by them, but I suspect Sound of Silence is a one of a kind song for them.
