James Spader needs to hit the gym

He was chubby before but this season he seems much fatter

I made an observation, that doesn't mean I hate him.

You're an expert troller. I like you.

reply

For a guy pushing 60 i'd say he's in fairly decent shape.

reply

Actually he's only 57.

He isn't playing the part of a marathon runner or fitness fanatic.... He is playing the part of a bad guy that also has a luxury appetite for fine food and drink, frankly I would say he was kind of underweight for that part in the beginning. Do you really think someone that has no qualm about popping a bullet in your brain because you piss him off is going to give a damn about his weight? I see him as more like Brando in the Godfather... was Brando too fat to play the Godfather? No, and perfectly fit actor playing the Godfather would have been ridiculous.

Calm down. It was an observation

You were 100% correct. People don't want to hear the truth. What could it hurt for him to hit the gym a few times a week? It can only help. He does not need to be ripped just lose a few.

reply

Nah, both you and the OP are "100%" incorrect. Unless, of course, you're talking about Spader needing to take better care of himself for personal reasons. While your possible concern for the actor's health is admirable, trying to link this concept to the role of Raymond Reddington is nonsensical. As has been explained by a previous poster, there's nothing about the character that requires any particular fitness level.

reply

Movies need more fatties in non-cliche roles...

reply

Completely agree.
