What's with the flip phones?
Is it because they're burners & not traceable?
sharePlayed near the end on tonight's episode, completely drawing a blank on title and composer. Help!
(I tried and only came up with Gymnopédie by Satie, but it's not, just similar.)
So sorry. I've posted in the wrong place.
shareThere's a site called Tunefind that should be able to help you.
shareScared me there--was that the name of a song? If so, I didn't know it.
shareNo GPS is a major thing as well imo.
shareI always thought they used the burners which mostly are still flip phones and can be destroyed much easier after being used.
shareI noticed that last night when Red was talking to Magnusson and both were using flip phones. Given that the latter was talking about murdering someone his was probably a burner. I can't see Red using anything but a burner. They may not be untraceable but they're almost certainly less traceable, can't be hacked, and cheaper which is wise since Red & people like him likely buy a lot of them.
What really struck me is that those phones are will eventually phased out so Red will have to upgrade. Almost a year ago I had to upgrade from my 2G phone and ultimately got a much more modern smart phone. You don't need a contract, plan, or to use your personal information to have and use a prepaid phone that will remain current for years to come, but anyone else who doesn't want to tracked or spied on using their own phone would have to be mindful about removing the battery, removing the SIM card, and/or physically disabling the microphone depending on whether they only use it to make calls and/or send message, or leave it on to receive calls/message.

I had to upgrade to 3G as well but my phone is still pretty stupid. Drop it the wrong way and it will call 911 even with the keyboard locked.

Star Trek had it wrong. You will assimilate yourself.
