The premise

This is the 2nd Clint Eastwood movie (that I know of) that has an unrealistic premise or at least, a story based on near impossible odds.

The movie was entertaining and the cast were all good (as expected from a Clint film), but I found the co-incidence of the actual perpetrator being randomly selected as a juror for the trial of the very manslaughter he committed to border on the unbelievable.

The same kind of "impossible odds" plot device was also used to resolve the story of another good Clint movie 'Trouble with the curve', where Amy Adams very conveniently finds a star pitcher outside her motel room right when the plot needs her to.

Surprised J K Simmons' character didn't sniff out N Hoult's guilt after seeing the way the guy behaved during the jury discussions as well as following him to the crime scene and having his 4x4 as one of the vehicles in his shortlist. Was expecting some twist at the last minute, but like the way it ended regardless. Sad to hear this was to be Clint's last movie.
