Well, it was nice seeing Sally Struthers again.
Haven't seen her in quite awhile. But then it turns out not to be her lol. Wow, what a doppelganger!! Jesus I could have sworn from the very first second I saw her that it was Sally. Well like they say, we all have a twin somewhere in this world LOL.
Anyway, this movie is definitely a one and done for me. Some of the scenes were very good. The acting was on par. And the suspense was nail biting at times. Now, I'm okay with suspension of disbelief. But only up to a point. This movie expected way way way waaaay too much suspension of disbelief. Like a ridiculous amount. Okay so driving blind using GPS?? Maybe on an empty road with no other vehicles or anything there as an obstacle. But with the chaos that was going on and all the crashes, you're going to try to tell me that there were no pileups anywhere and that they were conveniently able to weave around all obstacles that were detected on the GPS?? Yeah, no. And while in the boat for two whole days, you're going to tell me that the only thing that she bumps into is a old bus stuck in the water?? Doesn't hit one rock? Doesn't go off course and end up beached on the side of the river, not once? Whatever. And then they never end up telling us what the entity was? What a disappointment. So now, if I'm understanding this movie correctly, the entities allowed some of the people to not kill themselves in order to try to lure the stragglers in? But how did it choose who it would appoint to be one of these "helpers"? Like what criteria did it use? And how come sometimes their eyes were normal? And what the hell did these people see???? Jesus they could have at least given us a glimpse or two here and there. And then another thing was when it first started happening in America and you had all those people crowded on the streets running around, how come when someone saw the entity thingy that everybody else around them didn't see it as well?? Just way too many unanswered questions and way too much suspension of disbelief. I'm okay with believing in the entity thingies because that's the main point of the movie. But all that other stuff? Ridiculous. And who doesn't give their children a name???? Come on now. Even the most lousy parents, with no parental interest name their children. Good Lord the stupidity in this movie far far outweighs the good points that I listed above. If I'm ever flicking through the channels and this movie happens to pop up, I'm going to flick right by it. I definitely don't see this getting any better with subsequent viewings. It'll probably just make me even more pissed off LOL.
