Anybody thought it was kind of messed up that she ended up naming the little girl Olivia when her mother clearly wanted to name her after a Disney princess? Just curious. I thought this was a great movie btw

No she named her Olympia after her mother. I thought it was touching

Yes, and in some ways Olympia had the life experiences of a pampered Disney princess, but in a sweet way. The Hello Kitty toy part actually got me choked up, thinking of a world where little kids can’t be innocent and have toys like that.

If she was going to name her after her mother she should have called her Dumb Ass, because the dumb ass mother of Girl cause the deaths of most everyone in the original group.

My guess is that she didn't want to get too attached knowing they could be gone at any minute. Mallory clearly had extreme attachment issues. I'm guessing it was also partly about survival for her and for them. She clearly didn't want anyone to have feel obligated to risk themselves for someone else. Maybe she thought that if she wasn't motherly then they would be stronger if she died or if they needed to save themselves. A much simpler answer is that she was weird.
