Episode 7 Did Chekov create the Tachyon beam?
First off this will be a spoiler post so don't read any further if you have yet to watch the episode.
In the episode while the boarding party were in the U.S.S. Hood and the shields went up preventing them from being transported to the Enterprise, Chekov had an idea to send an algorithm through the deflector dish to send out a beam to drain/drop the shields allowing for the team to be transported back. This sounds a lot like a Tachyon beam to me. So did Chekov unintentionally create a version of a Tachyon beam effect?
