I'm glad to see a somewhat new, original idea for a movie. I'm also disheartened that we can't discuss Y2K and how things did eventually go off the rails (beginning with 9/11) in a serious manner.

A solid post and yes its disheartening. With all the shit that followed and how wealth shifted form the people to the 1% via wars, lies and theft.

Yes. That's one aspect the billionaires who fund movies will never want the movies to shed light on.

Maybe in the future... 80s nostalgia has ran rampant for years now (seemingly for over a decade?). If we start getting period pieces from the late 90s and early 00s we'll maybe get some heavier more serious efforts.
