Rob Hall oscar worthy

I was pissed that Jake was barely in it (I only saw it because he was in it), but Rob was excellent, so I minded it less. All I had seen from him up to this point was garbage like "planet of the apes", so this was very surprising.

I admit that Jason Clarke did better in this than his other bland performances. Maybe it had to do with him using a more native accent.

I thought he was awesome, and did a pretty passable kiwi accent too.

Jason Clarke was excellent in this role. Loved his portrayal of Rob Hall. Made him very likeable. I also loved Emily Watson as Helen the camp mother.

Even if he had snagged a nomination he wouldn't have beat Dicaprio. I have yet to see the revenant but I do wish this movie had gotten some sort of recognition from the academy. In all honesty I feel like Everest was really deserving of a nomination in Makeup and hairstyling because the Frozen, frost bitten and other special fx make up looked on point and seemed incredibly realistic.

I felt nothing but sympathy and sadness when Rob died in the movie, and I couldn't stop thinking about how horrible it must have been in real life. If Rob was anything like Jason Clarke played him in this movie (which is pretty realistic since he met with the family), I would have loved to meet him. He seemed like such a great guy.

I'd never seen Jason Clarke in anything except this, and he has a new fan! :)

I agree, flawless acting. Even his eyes told the story of what Rob Hall went through that day.
