This film is unwatchable

I bailed out after I think 20 minutes.

I watched the whole (damn) thing and wish I hadn't. Bad dialog, bad acting, bad film.

He's pretty much right. Terrible movie.

Same here OP. It came on Satellite the other night and i figured "eh, how bad could a Michael Mann movie be?"

The answer: pretty awful. I also bailed after 20 minutes. Between Hemsworth's performance and the banal dialogue i just couldn't take it.

It was also understated to the point of being comatose.

I would have bailed if it wasn't a Michael Mann film. By the time I finished it though, I wished I would have...

This is actually talking about the first 30 minutes of this movie, so you there will be spoilers.

So many problems in the first 30 minutes. There's a rule - there is no way a movie is suddenly going to stop being BAD and UNINTERESTING after 30 minutes.

Did we REALLY need to see the computer graphics with the horror music TWICE in the first x minutes so the movie can PRETEND to show us what it looks like going on inside of a computer when being hacked?

This whole contrived sequence (I've put together a LOT of computers - I don't remember any CHIPS having little lights on them which light up when they're doing something "wrong".) was screaming, "BAD DIRECTION".

The director got the whole thing wrong. It was supposed to be quiet, undetected.

There could have been real terror created here with music, editing, camera movement, a schoolyard of children, people in a market, a loading dock etc etc. Then a "click" that goes barely noticed.

So many better ways this could have been done - DIFFERENTLY - in both those sequences (as opposed to reusing the same footage)

Then the casting. Thor as a hacker? Really? Have you ever, EVER seen what 99.99999% of computer guys looks like? Think Kevin Smith in Die Hard 4, think Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates - not THOR.

So when did I lose it? The Chinese guy picks up Thor at the airport, and the Norse god locks eyes with the sister and...

OK, THIS MOVIE IS NOT GETTING ANY BETTER.
