Was Queen Elizabeth really a man?
Do you think Queen Elizabeth was really a man?
shareNo.
shareNo. She never was a man. It's a rotten rumor spread around that completely forgets her mom got her head chopped off by her dad's orders because he didn't believe the marriage to be legit because she was born a girl.

Henry VIII was an oversexed, overweight, over-ego'd a$$h0le. It's poetic justice IMO that his last wife outlived him. I hope she spat on his grave.
shareYes Henry VIII was all those things you say here Lyndajane73...The idea of Elizabeth being a man was a rumor that some still think is true.
I have looked up online why she never married and there is no shortage of of reasons why Elizabeth I did not marry.
One is that seeing how her father was with his wives and not wanting to be controlled by anyone is one theory. Or maybe she feared that being married would diminish her control over her country or she did not find her suiters worthy. I doubt her being a man theory though.
A big part of it was protecting her own place and England after her. If she had married and had kids there would be continued fighting over whether Elizabeth's children were the rightful heirs or whether Mary's son was. When Elizabeth died, the whole thing (more or less) came to an end. Mary's son became the King of England, while he was King of Scotland and the battle of succession rights came to an end. At least for the time being.
shareThanks for the reply. Makes sense.
shareDon't forget that the two step mother's that cared for her died soon after giving birth. Jane Seymour and Katherine Parr- who died after giving birth to the child of Jane Seymour's brother. She had many reasons not to marry and zero reasons to pretend to be a girl. It would have been a lot easier for everyone if she had been a man- that's for sure.
shareMost male monarchs of the time were over oversexed and over-ego'd, and if you marry someone who is two decades younger than you it's likely that that person will outlive you. Actually, the consensus among historians is that Henry treated Catherine Parr well. Compare that to Catherine's next (and final) husband, Thomas Seymour, who romantically pursued his wife's teenage stepdaughter so brazenly that Catherine had to send her away.
shareNo. She never was a man. It's a rotten rumor
It is said that the real Elizabeth died as a baby and she was replaced with the closest looking and available baby there was, who happened to be a male. Historians have not proven it though.
I do not have Attention Deficit Disor ... Ooooh, look at the bunny!
A simple examination of the body (even the bones) would show whether or not Elizabeth was a man or woman. The fact that no one's bothered, proves what a bunch of crap this is.
shareHistorians have looked into it, and most of them regard the theory as false. The Original theory claims she died at age 10 from the plauge. Contrary to what was shown on Reign this rumour didn't pop up till well after Elizabeth was buried in her grave, which usually means it has no basis. Royal children died all the time it was a common occurrence. There was absolutely no reason to cover up her death. Add on top if that her mother was only married to Henry the 8th for a total of 3 years before she was executed on charges of treason. Elizabeth was only 3 years old when her father married Jane Seymour and declared her illegitimate. At the age of 10 Elizabeth's father wanted nothing to do with her at this point he probably wouldn't have even batted his eyelashes at her death.
Its something you'll get used to a mental mind *beep* can be nice!
It wasn't plague. It was the Sweating Sickness that many died of. Elizabeth did have that. The YouTube documentary on this gives you very intriguing clues. A secret grave was uncovered...so much you just to view it. I watched it!
shareNo, the original theory was that she died of the plague http://www.elizabethfiles.com/the-bisley-boy/3255/. People may be saying it was the Sweating Sickness now but that is not the original incarnation of this story. This legend didn't pop in any historical record up until the 1911 when Bram Stoker (yes of Dracula fame) wrote a book about it. Elizabeth died in 1603, you don't think it is at all suspicious that no one even considered this still well after her death?
Nothing about a Queen's life was private not even her own body. Elizabeth may never have married but marriage contracts were written up on more then one occasion. For one of which she was examined by a whole team of doctors to ensure she was suitable for marriage. Do you really think they were able to fake a vagina?

Go on YouTube and look up the special they did on it. A very interesting thing to watch and it does make you wonder. I don't know the link but just put it in search engine. It's worth it.
shareOf course she wasn't a man! Sheesh! There is plenty of evidence to trample this stupid theory . For starters, if anyone is having their doubts of Elizabeth being a man then I suggest to pay a visit to the website the Elizabeth files. It has a fantastic article based upon the legend of the Bisley Boy.
Quite a shame the makers had to bring this theory to the show but then again everyone are a bunch of psychos , retards ,weirdos and plotters with the exception of Mary and Francis
