Isn't it sort of obvious that he's most likely in cahoots with this whole Red Knight thing? One of Catherine's questions in the torture chamber was to ask that guy if they really did have an inside man planted in the King's Guard....sounds like that guy will be Christophe, right? Even if he isn't the one, why would Catherine not be a little more wary of the possibility that he is? She already knows he's a serial killer and a blackmailer. I find it hard to believe that someone as cunning as her would not suspect him in the slightest.
I also think it's bogus that she hasn't tried to kill him quietly to eliminate both of her problems - that she's secretly housing a deviant murderer in the castle and that he threatens to expose her actions in the whole Claude debacle. This is Catherine, the poison extraordinaire. What is she waiting for?
Basically I'm tired of Christophe and ready to get his plot over and done with...which will probably not happen until the season finale, but with Reign, anything is possible.
I agree just kill him off already. She's regent he's a nobody just take away his leverage then bam kill him done, sure she has spies who could find it.
Just so I'm clear: Cristophe is the one Bash & Delphine were after, right? The killer who steals hearts?

I agree, I was hoping she was going to slice him open and leave him to bleed and die in the kitchen pantry, surprising him.
I get the reason she hasn't killed him yet is because Cristophe has arranged for a letter to be delivered to ... the authorities (?!) if he suddenly disappears or dies. She doesn't know who has the letter, so until she finds out (I'm looking at the Baker's wife), he's safe from her. But what he's blackmailing her with - having Claude beaten...yes, it's bad, but is it as bad as Catherine poisoning Claude?! At this point, Claude knows exactly who her mother is - it shouldn't surprise her. I say just tell Claude. Claude will be upset, never forgive her mother, until Claude stumbles onto the idea of getting her mother to give her $$$$ so Leith can start his own business...
And in a very weird, sick, twisted way, Cristophe seems to love Catherine. As much as a serial killer can love someone. So I'm not convinced he's the inside man.

Yes, he is the killer from Bash and Delphine's plot.
I forgot about the letter that will be delivered upon his death or disappearance, so I'm glad that you reminded me of this... that does make sense as to why she's been more docile than usual. But you're right, Claude has already hated her mother a million other times, so surely Catherine can just take the risk and tell her the truth about this too. It all turned out well for Claude in the long run, didn't it? So she'd get over it eventually, and I do like what your thinking about getting cash for Leith - seems like a reasonable trade-off to me!
Maybe I'm wrong about Christophe, but for as deranged as he is, I can see him as the type who enjoys playing with his mouse before he kills it - he's having his fun and enjoying the privilege of having control over the Queen Mother and Regent of France. I think he's getting off on the power trip, but when the time comes, he will reveal his real motivation for messing with her and then attempt to murder her. It would be sort of lame if this entire convoluted plot of who is out to get Catherine (dating back to who framed her Francis' death, right?) ended with a random perpetrator who we do not know as a current character... and I don't know who else among the current cast could possibly be guilty.

I actually thought from your original post that you did remember, I was going to mention it but upon looking at your post again I thought I'd be overstating something that you already knew LOL, oops. *ahem* My bad! ;)

Catherine is no shy daisy when it comes to killing. So, I see her eventually poisoning lover boy or something more bloody. She isn't squeamish at all. If Cristophe goes near Claude, he's a dead duck. You guys seem to get fed up on a story at the drop of a hat...like driving and somebody is going too slow for your tastes. RELAX...let the chips fall where they may.
There are plenty of things I like about Reign, but that doesn't mean I shut off my brain while I watch and decide that the show is above criticism. My issue here is when the plot forces a character to act outside of their normal patterns, which in this case is Catherine being far too trusting of Christophe and not trying to scheme her way out of her current dilemma. I don't think she's acting like herself, and my theory is that it's l because the writers are purposely dumbing it down until Christophe's purpose gets resolved in the finale. It's fine if you don't agree, but just because you're content with how the writers handle everything doesn't mean the rest of us have to watch it with the same blind acceptance.
