This show keeps acting like those in power can be easily challenged like the generals trying to force Catherine to be in a military tribunal. The idea of that is ridiculous, the monarch could do whatever they wanted in this time frame and military had to listen. Specifically, if the king was backing catherine.
shareI understand your point and perhaps you're completely right, but if the members of an army go unpaid and then are convinced that the monarch slaughtered their generals just to avoid paying them, isn't likely that they would revolt? History is riddled with civil wars and coups for a reason - if the people are no longer satisfied with their government, they revolted. I don't know about the act of a military tribunal, but I could easily believe that they would overthrow their own monarchy if they were angry enough.
shareI understand a revolt. Its just the eay they talked to the freaking queen and king were so disrespectful at a time where the king could behead anyone for looking at them wrong. This coming off the heels of the fighting pit place last week where that one chick completly disrespected Charles and its like that never would have flyed back then. I still love the show but details like that bother me immensely.
