Since 3x05 *SPOILERS*

Even though Francis is gone, I'm glad that the writers have mentioned his name quite a bit in the episodes since his death. I especially loved the scene from 3x15 between Mary and Catherine when Mary is planning to leave and Catherine says that saying goodbye to Mary is like having to say goodbye to her son all over again. Mary's presence kept a part of him alive. It goes to show that even though he's gone, he's not gone from the characters' thoughts. Also, did anybody else cry when Mary opened her posthumous gift from Francis? When we got to hear his voice again, I just lost it.

In 3x16 when Mary realizes that she's in the company of the Scottish Protestants who intended to assassinate her and killed Francis instead, I couldn't help but get excited. I do hope she finds their leader and brings him to justice. Don't mess with Mary!
