Goodbye.

This getting like Game of Thrones (2011-). We lost such important people in both shows recently. Lola, Rickon, Leith, Hodor, etc.

I'm pretty sure Leith will survive but you make a great point. This show has no problem killing off characters in a shocking way too, I really thought Lola was going to survive somehow. I would have never thought they'd get rid of her last lady in waiting. I guess Greer is alive somewhere. I know they renewed season 4 but I'm guessing it will be the last.

Can't believe poor Lola! I might not watch GoT, don't have cable, but can't help but think of Reign as a somewhat equivalent show. Thought for sure there would be an eleventh hour save by Narcise and they'd be on the run or something. But wow, just wow!

I really feel bad as I love Anna... I mean I didn't know who anyone else on the show was at the time it debuted way back when. It was Anna's name being attached to the then pilot that got me to watch. I can only wish her the best...

I haven't watched yet but have seen spoilers to ruin it for me (my own fault, I should have known better but the againn, seriously how should I have known that Netflix in the UK aired episodes a day ahead and furthermore a$$h01e$ would post every detail of what they had seen... really NOT cool especially for those who had no idea anyone had access the day before)... I have to wonder if three years was the extent of the contracts of the cast and only some renewed and others, such as Torrance Coombs, Celina Sinden, Anna Popplewell, etc haven't been renewed. The bugger of it all is that we only knew for sure that Torrance was leaving. The rest feels like a screw you!!! Seems like the Reign we've come to know and love for three seasons for characters other than just Mary will be changed so drastically it won't even be the same show anymore.

I'm going to sulk off now and try to find it to watch.

I agree. And I haven't written it off since there's a good chance there will only be one more season (due to the rule of 4 between CW and Netflix) and I can buckle up for one final hoorah, but I am wary of what Reign will look like next season. I think Lola was the best part of the English scenes, so that's over with now... I still love Catherine's scenes, but Charles is one of the least interesting characters to ever exist on Reign and he is a huge part of what happens in France. Leith/Claude are the best romance on the show as of right now, but even if he pulls through, I still expect that ship to sink sooner or later - no one ever gets long-term happiness on Reign. And now that Bash is gone, Mary's scenes are devoid of any other familiar face (unless Gideon remains in Scotland, which seems unlikely). I wonder if the showrunners would have kept Anna/Lola in hindsight if they had been better prepared for Torrance's exit. It seems like they planned on actually transitioning his character into Mary's new storyline until the actor took another part.

I think they have to make room in the budget for all the new actors

Leith could still survive. There's a reason they didn't explictly show his dead body and the stabbing could be used to have him figure out the de medicis are horrible people.
