Why are all the actors leaving?

I have never seen a show where so many of the main characters disappear or die. Are there tensions among the cast that people are quitting the show and the writers are just adapting? Looks very suspicious to me.

reply

Duh budget cuts. Happens to shows with terrible ratings. It's not the only CW show who trimmed their cast this year. It's following HOD,Nikita and BATB trajectory as 4 seasons & done.

reply

Duh, it's not the show's fault that the head honchos treat it like a stepchild and move it from place to place, pit it against impossible odds, film in brutal conditions (winter especially). There are three newlyweds that left: Torrance, Celina, and Anna, married in real life. Torrance went on to be in another show but will no doubt return to REIGN at some time...IF the writers can write something decent for poor Bash. I read about 2 years ago, that making REIGN is quite profitable for that network. They're, however, a lousy network. All they care about is stupid superheroes, etc. They need to promote more also. Don't sink it yet because you never know.

reply

LOL They gave it a chance on Thursday despite the horrible 0.3s last 2014 on the most expensive day of the week. The Superhero are what's paying the bills not this dreck.
Lousy network? Ungateful much. No way this would've survive on other networks to last a season. Reality check darling. CW is far too kind for you. Try the Big 4 networks.
I like your optimism. Same as Hart of Dixie fans last year.

reply

You talk about the Big 4 but ironically they will also can that superhero garbage as well since no show on this network is near big 4 ratings standards.

Oh really? no wonder Flash keeps beating two of the big 4 networks on Tuesdays.
So that's why FOX renewed fractional Rosewood & turd Scream Queens? Oh my you're the one who can't back up your claim. 1.2 Gotham and 1.3 Flash
Nice try Emily. Go back to watching hoe shows like Gossip Girl.

reply

Despite those shows ratings, the quality of those shows are much better than The Flash or anything else on The CW and that's the truth. Plus it says a lot when shows like Screen Queens and Gotham were on the verge of cancellation on Fox all season while on the CW their ratings would be a sure renewal. And Sleepy Hollow whose overall ratings were similar to the Flash was banished to Friday nights while on the CW that means getting put on a decent night. P.S. learn to spell hoe is a gardening tool

Coome on now. Sleepy Hollow really? Flash have never gone fractional unlike that racist show. They're not desperate to use rape as ratings ploy unlike this filth.

reply

That show has the same ratings as The Flash and considered to be on the verge of cancellation that's my point and I'm just saying their standards are much higher and your superhero shows won't even make it past one season on a real major network. The best of the worse network is nothing to brag about. Especially when a show with the same ratings on a better network is considered lower tier. In other words The Flash is like being the manager of a fast food joint while Sleepy Hollow is like working in the mailroom of a major corporation and both jobs pay the same thing and being the top of the fast food joint is something to the people who work in the restaurant but no one really important to people who don't work there and while working in the mail room is not a respected job but at least you can say you work for a major company. So at least Sleepy Hollow is on Fox (the major corporation in my example) while The Flash is like being the manager of McDonald's no matter how high you are at the end of the day you still work for McDonald's.

Flash got 1.6-1.1
Sleepy Hollow got 0.8-0.7 come on now. Even Gotham got 1.6-1.3 on FOX. Try to get the facts right dear.
Oh and hello to FOX's 3 fractional nights this Fall.

reply

Are you still on this? LOL, face it no one important likes your superhero shows, why do you think only the CW will pick them up and no real networks? The fact still remains that the Flash's ratings will be on the verge of cancellation or a shocking renewal on a real network.

Hehehe 3 fractional nights on FOX

reply

Reign has been pitted against tough odds but still floats...Thursday nites had football, or basketball, some kind of goof ball sports...well, you know what is on each night. Some states don't even get that network or cable service, whatever. Winter weather knocks stuff out...Reign is a worthy show because it's not the same old reality tv...superhero crap...blah blah blah. And CW is a lousy network.

reply

What a dumbass. Reign getting affected by sports? Hahahaha

reply

Huh you are the dumbass...I SPEAK the truth. I know it affected the Thursday night line up. I don't give a fig if you think I'm stupid. So BITE me.

reply

It was placed there because it skewed female aka counter programming. Oh dear ratings challenged people.

reply

Yeah it is a lousy network and sadly I do expect them to clean quite a bit of house at the end of the upcoming season. They seem to think superheroes are their next biggest niche the same way they thought of teen shows in the beginning but I think it's gonna backfire.

Oh wait Smallville 10 years
Why thank you Miss Nostradamus. So did those teen hoe shows had crossovers too?
Oh wait NBC has too many Chicago shows. CBS and their 3 NCIS shows. Will they backfire too?
What does your almighty crystal ball say?

reply

Well you can't compare the Chicago shows and NCIS which are really good and very top rated to superhero shows which will get old quickly as tv shows. Smallville had a good mix of superhero stuff plus drama and didn't get too superhero like until the later seasons which were a bit boring IMO, and it was enjoyable even for people who weren't into superhero shows unlike the current shows. Fox is a network that is taken seriously and so is most of it's shows while CW on the other hand isn't even the shows that do get Golden Globes are a joke.

Revenue dear. They all bring it to their network unlike this crap who had to limp to even muster a puny return.

reply

Damn Zyrah, you're so angry, calm down. If you dislike these "hoe" shows so much why are you on their message boards. On and FYI the revenue from these 'hoe' shows helps develop your superhero ones ?

reply

Hahahaha Without those Superhero shows,Netflix wouldn't have resigned a new deal. Bwahaha puny revenue from this sluts is not even enough to pay for their own production cost.

reply

I'm sorry but izombie is awesome! And it's not superhero!

reply

I don't believe it's about tension on set; all of the cast seem pretty chummy when you look at interviews and behind the scenes footage. I think it probably is about budget cuts. The show is expanding from France to England and Scotland and with that expansion comes new characters. It's become too expensive for the network to employ all of these actors at the same time.

Yes, we've seen a lot of characters leave in Season 3. The only two remaining from the first season are Mary and Catherine, which is crazy to think about. It's tough to see them go especially when these characters have become so familiar to us. But hopefully the new characters will keep us going into Season 4. I'm hoping we'll get to meet Mary's next husband, Lord Darnley, next season.

reply

Sleepy Hollow dear. The only regular cast member left from the first season is Ichabod Crane. Even the characters that were reoccurring regulars, like Jenny and the Headless Horsemen, in the first season are gone.

reply

For the most part I think it's because of where the story is going. Hence we know that Mary goes back to Scotland not too long after Francis' death so the show has to tell that which means somehow getting rid of the ladies. Plus Bash left because the actor wanted out. I just hope Narcisse returns! He's my favorite character right now.

reply

I think it's more purely a plot reason. With Francis dead and Mary going back to Scotland there was really no use for her girls and the characters in France.

reply

I could see a few actors wanting to leave, though I agree it probably is for story line reasons; the move to Scotland and making way for new characters.

reply

I don't want to see a lot of the characters go. I'm not sure how I feel about the show going in a new direction. I agree there's likely no use for the girls but I'd still like to see Mary and Narcisse as well.

reply

You should see teen wolf. The actors practically run from it when they have the chance.

reply

Id just blame history, many people were killed off for nothingin those days.

While it has a lot of fanasty and invented stuff the base of the show is quite accurate, Francis died in history so did his father so while it has a lot of fiction the basis is accurate to what really happened.

reply

Because they are embarrassed that they have butchered the only real life characters in history in this show. There was no Greer, Lola etc and King Francis died at 16 years old. The events never happened and the costumes look like modern prom dresses. It's just bad TV.
