This is a middle of the road flick. There's good moments and odd fumbles with this movie. The script tries to make sense, but it's a little too invested with the twists to follow the story.
It's a once every four years watch. It's rewatchable, but you wouldn't think to do it often.
I'd say it's infinitely better than 90/95% of the comedies that have made released over the last 10 years or so, which may not be a high bar, but still reflects well on this movie.
It harkens backs to 80s/90s mainstream comedy movies which focused on plot, character and genuinely clever/funny scenarios, rather than gross-out gags, pop-culture references and aimless improv. No wonder the film was a box-office hit. More of this type of comedy movie, please.
