Even if 7 is "the finale," we know it won't be, just like happened with 3. This is a franchise that may take hiatuses, but it won't ever truly die. Sure, whether this one or another later, they do need to craft a definitive end for Sidney, because at some point, if no other reason than her own age and health, Campbell will be finished. So they will have to somehow pivot the story completely away from her. While she's always the best, we know she's not absolutely crucial, they've shown they can manage without her.

And honestly, it seems she and Mark have three daughters? Come on, they've obviously been planted to be the leads in another 15, 20 years.
