A Trend in McCarthy's Movies

i Just saw THE BOSS today and i loved it, but i noticed a trend in most of Melissa McCarthy's movies and that is there's always something happening to peoples throats,

heres a list of what of what i mean:

THE HEAT

- Bullock and McCarthy do a tracheotomy to a guy in a cafe due to choking

SPY

- a guys throat disolves from drinking spiked drink

IDENTITY THIEF

- McCarthy does karate chops to peoples throats

TAMMY

- McCarthy's mum has trouble breathing

THE BOSS

- Melissa hits a tennis ball into her lawyers throat.

is it McCarthy's idea to do the throat things or is it just the directors idea cause it seems there a trend going on in her movies.

I also noticed a leg cramp reference from Identity Thief. I don't remember his name, but the guy Claire goes on a date with...when he's distracting the security guard, he fakes a leg cramp and the guy gets down on his knees and rubs his leg just like in Identity Thief.
