The female Jim Carrey

Probably the closest I've seen in recent times. I didn't enjoy Spy that much, but when McCarthy does one of her quirky characters, she's pretty good. Jim Carrey's movies weren't very well received either, I remember the first Ace Ventura actually tanked, before people started appreciating his style of humor. People who hate McCarthy shouldn't even be anywhere near her movies anyways.

I'm really surprised it only has 19% on RT, and they gave Trainwreck 85%, which I hardly ever laughed. There were some scenes that I thought might've gone too far, but that's the thing about cheap immature humor, is that they keep pushing the boundaries that eventually something will cross and make people cringe. Anyways, not a bad way to spend my hour and a half.

I guess if you consider making 72.2 Million off a 15 million budget than sure

That's not a good thing. Where is Jim Carrey today? He had a short career span, and so will McCarthy.

The thing is she was very good in the Bill Murray picture "St Vincent", she was low key.

With these movies she plays the same role, it has a short shelf life. Look at Carrey.

Jim Carrey's career tanked because he started doing serious movies, especially The Majestic, which was Drama and The number 23 which was a Horror. I remember my sister when Tge Majestic trailer came out saying something like,"Why did Jim Carrey go the serious route? His niche is Comedy. I'll bet his career will start to tank." She was right.

I like to compare her Boss character to Ace Ventura Jr.

Considering that Jim Carrey isn't as good as he used to be. It's fitting. 
