Nora and the "wish away" theory

I've been re-watching the series carefully and noticed that in season 2, Nora actually makes 2 references to the "wish away" theory and wonders if she could be responsible for her family's departure. The first time, the person speaking with her misinterprets what she's saying and starts talking about the "lens" theory, which Nora rejects. Later, when speaking with Erica Murphy (whom, at that point, believed her daughter and her two friends were "secondary departures"), Nora rejects the "wish away" theory as well. It will be interesting to see whether the departures are explained in Season 3 - but based on the fact Nora has already considered it, I don't think it will be that someone - at that very moment - "wished away" the departed one.

From what I understand we aren't ever going to know what happened or why the people Departed. This isn't really about that it's about people and the way they handled life after the departure.
