Yes its worth it. I think that scene is a pretty weak one but its suposed to show how these kids sre getting into some weird and extreme *beep* in order to feel something.
shareI liked S1 a lot and absolutely loved S2, which was one of my all-time favorite seasons of any show, in fact. I think if you liked Lost, you'll like this show if you give it a chance. The scene you're talking about is supposed to be unsettling and basically shows that if 2% of the World's population suddenly disappeared without any apparent reason, many people would react in a creepy way - and an extreme, even dangerous, "spin the bottle" app on a smart phone doesn't seem much of a reach to me.
