Justin Theroux deserves an Emmy

I know the nominations begin sometime in March (now) and are announced on June 1st.
Who submits nominations?

Justin Theroux's performance this past season was remarkable, totally the best. (Even deeper and more engaging than Rami Malek.)

As much as I love GoT and Better Call Saul and whatever other shows I watch lol Justin is the stand out, he should definitely get the nom and walk away with the win for the second season. He was incredible

reply

Agreed, I don't care what people say about this guy, I think he's a great actor.

He absolutely deserves at least a nomination.

Each plays a very intense, totally absorbing character.

It's one of those situations where it could go either way; and fans of both would not complain. But, if I were doing the deciding, Theroux would edge out Malek...but, not by much.

For some folks it boils down to forest/trees. So, if you don’t get it THEN you just don’t get it!

Anyway…

Comments from Mimi Leder; the director of the finale.

"Justin was terrified of singing," Leder said. "I kept saying, 'We don't want you to be a good singer, we don't even want you to sing half-good.' He did a brilliant job."

I agree. Just finished S1, and the scenes with/about Patti in the cabin felt brutally real. Kevin's confusion, pain, and despair were palpable. Great work.

I'd add that the writing is also very good. That "throw-away" line revealing the truth of Gladys's fate was a gut-punch.

Theroux holds his own against the might Regina King whenever they are on camera together. Anyone who can do that deserves an Emmy nod, if not a win!

Just hoping Jennifer Aniston realizes what a catch she has! He's 10 times the actor she could ever hope to be.
