Why does it feel like they never followed through with their storylines?

We will definitely see the fulfillment of Kevin Sr's storyline in a big way, that was clear from the moment they announced Australia. As for Holy Wayne, I've always felt that his storyline never stopped, just got pushed to the background a little. As long as his baby is still being taken care of by the Garveys, I think we can reasonably expect some sort of payoff as to why he/she's special. I'll be very disappointed if we don't get one more appearance from Wayne himself, though being double dead presents a problem.
