Is this show good?

It's a great show, arguably the most underrated show on imdb. Should have somewhere around 8.8/10 I would say.

If you like LOST, you'll like this.

Lindelof is the creative motor behind both.

Don't give up too early, it takes a few episodes to be completely immersed.

Oh definitely! Its artsy like Penny Dreadful. Its depressing like The Killing. And its most similar to Lost, if all you had were the flashback scenes.

I think the show is good and pretty intriguing. It brings up lots of self evaluation for me. I'm looking forward to the next season. I haven't read the books but I saw people wrote that the show has caught up so it'll be a new story from here.

I never saw any of the shows you watch but I absolutely love The Leftovers! Like others say, you must give it time and a lot of attention. You can't just peruse Amazon on your laptop and half-watch. After reading some boards, I've even had to re-watch some episodes and was amazed at what I missed. Truly amazing show.
