Season 3 Episode 1 questions
Okay, could someone remind me; what does Noah's late father need to apologize for? And what big thing did Noah forgive his sister for?

shareHis father treated him like cr@p. We don't know what he forgave Nina for, unless it was the fight the got into that other time he came over, but I doubt it was that.
shareI don't think this is a spoiler because it was discussed in Season 2 I think but I will put it in tags anyway because I'm also going to refer to the first episode of Season 3.
Noah's told the story a few times about how his mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when Noah was a teenager. His father was a long distance truck driver and an alcoholic, so he spent most of his time away from home. Noah, at around 16 years old, had to take care of his mother and all of her physical needs. His sister Nina, who was around 18 I think, took off travelling. So Noah was responsible by himself for taking care of his mother, who later died. Further, Noah's dad never really connected to him and preferred his sister. I think Noah's dad and sister were in their own ways trying to apologize for that. Also, in the first episode of Season 3, we get some flashback hints to something with a train and I'm wondering if that was a trauma from his childhood that we haven't yet heard about. Maybe his father did something even worse?
ITA.
Just adding: I also think Noah's dad had a mistress too when the going got rough when the wife got sick.
Now Noah and his oldest boy are continuing the cycle of son-hates-cheating-father.
On another note: since season one, I've always wondered if Noah gave his mother the Kevorkian option before she died.
It's just a vibe I get with him; like he's harboring a secret guilt about her death, even though he was her caretaker in the end. IDK
