Alison is the most boring, lifeless, listless character I've watched

The actress can only do a vacant and confused lost girl look. There's no growth.

I think her lips contribute to her vulnerability. She's not written in a great way, i mean Oscar tore her to shreds in the last episode and we met her when she was cutting herself and totally effed up by the loss of her son. She had tried to kill herself. She probably reminds people too much of their own pain when they are looking to escape with a television show. Good actress imo.

I think that was the point of the series. Allison was not meant to be an interesting character.

She is a small town woman, depressed, guilty and unhappy after the death of her small child who caught the lustful eye of a middle-aged man going through the proverbial mid-life crisis. Each was blinded by their lust and ignored the obvious. And now they are trapped in their own decisions and can't find a way out.

She and Noah have nothing in common except sex. And if Joni belongs to Cole, then they don't even have a child in common. And I think the sex is waning for both of them, too. Noah needs to be single. And Allison should never have cheated on Cole. But they were both in mourning over their son and that often destroys relationships.

Maybe Noah did kill Cole. We keep thinking it's someone else. Who knows? Maybe Allison was in the car.

and she is supposed to be this empowered female character while Dominic West and all the men are philandering, insecure cry babies. the praise this show gets is ridiculous. So overrated.
