a totally annoying episode

There are already a slew of annoying characters like the French teacher and the student whose writing was called "a diary." And this mystery man stalking Noah? How many seasons will the writers take to explain THAT?

reply

It's Brendan Fraser.

reply

But who is his character and what is he up to?

reply

I think they are alluding to the fact that he was a CO in Noah's prison and they had some kind of 'run in' while he was serving his time.

reply

Boy Brendan got old & fat fast!

reply

I don't think the diary girl is annoying. I am a bit biased though, I know and like that actress from Parenthood. She's good.

reply

Her character sounds like nails on a chalkboard. It's horrendous.

reply

I loved the episode and wasn't annoyed by it at all.

reply

Read some of the other threads. To summarize: Noah is suffering PTSD from being raped in prison, possibly by the prison guard. It shows why he is so maladjusted now that he is free. The issue of rape and fear of rape comes up several times. He cannot perform with the French woman.

In the final seconds he is viscously attacked, by whom? The Guard who was tailing him? Does the guard fear being exposed by this famous writer? It was actually a very good episode.

reply

Was he truly attacked? we see no one. It might be a dream sequence.

Why do you pronounce it of-Ten when you don't say lisTen or sofTen or fasTen?
It's just "offen"

reply

Maybe, but we see blood and he is in an ambulance in the preview for the second episode.

reply

aaah.... OK. I didn't see the preview... so it is legit. ok. thanks, infoBabe!
I just rewatched that scene. There's a shadow in his foyer that looms toward him (we're led to believe.) and footsteps...

hm.
