Noah/Alison married?

So ARE Noah and Alison married? I know in season 2 Alison says that they are, but that literally seems to be the only sign that that's true. Did I miss something? Could that have been something viewed from only her perspective somehow? A lie, maybe?

I really don't want them to be married. I wonder if the audience is supposed to be rooting for them in any way. Supposedly they have a connection, but we only know that because we're told that. It's clear that Cole and Helen are the likable characters on the show and they're the ones we should want to see happy. Cole and Alison especially have what to me is a great and sweet story filled with so much pain. It's so good that Noah just feels like a nuisance in their story. I would love to see Alison wake up and fight for her man (Cole, that is), but this doesn't strike me as a show that will provide anyone with a happy ending...
