Does Noah Know about Allison's Involvement?
Didn't Allison come clean to Noah last season? Told him that she was there that night or am I imagining it? If she did, it pretty sh*tty of Noah to continue letting Helen believe he did it for her.

shareAllison and Noah saw each other literally right after it happened. Scottie confronted Allison, they quarreled, she got defensive and pushed him....right as Helen and Noah's car was approaching. The road was dark. It was just one of those crazy coincidences. Noah went to jail to protect BOTH of them.
shareYes, Allison told Noah. Noah's attorney was going to question Detective Jeffries about finding Allison's name card (from the wedding) he found at the crime scene. Allison did not want anyone to know that she pushed Scotty. Allison told Noah "just tell the truth." Allison meant "just tell them that Helen was driving the car." Instead of allowing Noah's attorney to question Detective Jeffries regarding finding Allison's name card at the crime scene, telling the court that Helen was driving, or both - Noah just shouted "I'm guilty" in court (before Detective Jeffries could say anything).
It is strange because Detective Jeffries would have had to given the evidence showing that Allison was at the crime scene to The State. Detective Jeffries, The State, and The Defense all would have to know that Detective Jeffries has proof that Allison was at the crime scene. It would seem as though proof of Allison being at the crime scene would have come out - at the minimum by a investigative journalist covering the trial.
Now we are "meeting" the characters after 3 years has gone by.
We know that Allison left Joanie with Cole and Louisa, checked herself into a mental hospital, and was away for 6 months. We also know that when Allison returns Cole and Louisa deny Allison the right to see her daughter Joanie.
After being denied the right to see her daughter, Allison runs into Oscar. Oscar asks Allison to tell him what is going on. Allison responds to Oscar by saying "I don't know if Cole would want me to talk about it .... did Cole say anything about me when I was gone.
Why would Allison state "I don't know if Cole would want me to talk about it?"
Why would Allison ask Oscar "did Cole say anything about me when I was gone?"
There seems to be much more to Allison and Cole that we do not know.

windkirby,
Was Cole's noticeable courtroom stare ever explained (Season 2 during Noah's arraignment).
After Cole stared at Noah then at Allison holding baby Joanie - many speculated that Cole figured out that Joanie was his daughter.
However, we know that Cole did not figure out that Joanie was his daughter at that time. Cole does not find out that Joanie is his daughter until Joanie is 2 years old.
Was Cole's courtroom stare showing that Cole understood that Noah was not guilty of murdering Scotty. That more than likely Noah was taking the blame and protecting Allison in some way?
Was Cole's courtroom stare meaningless - it was Cole simply looking at the man that he thought murdered his brother and the woman that he was love with?
Or, did Cole have a realization in the courtroom at that time -- did Cole figure out a truth that he was being kept from?
The only people that know everything that happened the night that Scott Lockhart was killed are Allison and Noah. Helen believes that Noah went to prison to protect her (Helen). Helen does not know that Allison pushed Scotty in front of the car. If it was not for Detective Jeffries getting ready to take the stand to give testimony regarding finding evidence showing that Allison was at the crime scene Noah would have never shouted "I'm guilty."
For over 3 years, Helen has believed that Noah was motivated to go to prison to protect Helen. Helen more than likely believes that Noah did this for her because Noah loves her, wants to protect the mother of his children, and felt guilty about the affair (as Helen more than likely rationalizes that Noah feels as though had he not had the affair none of these events would have occurred). In the end, Helen may lose everything. If Helen's children find out the truth - Helen's children may never be able to trust Helen again causing her children wanting to have nothing to do with her. Helen may end up alone - without her children and without the man she loves (Noah).
Thanks Windkirby! I look forward to reading your future posts! Be Well!
Good point. Helen doesn't know that Allison played some role in it. But the thing is, if the Detective knew the WHOLE story, Helen would be in as much trouble as Allison.
Scotty died because of a confluence of circumstances in which people were careless or broke the law. It would have been considered vehicular manslaughter, not murder, most likely. Allison didn't mean to push Scotty in front of a car. She just pushed him because they were arguing; she was angry, she felt threatened. She should have considered that shoving someone right next to a dark road is a bad idea. Helen shouldn't have driven drunk on a dark road either. That in and of itself is against the law.
I think he DID go to jail to protect both of them. It's just that Allison knows that and Helen doesn't.

No, I agree. Helen was the one who was driving drunk. She stood to get into more trouble that night than Allison did. But once the incident was in the past, it might have been hard to prove she was drunk. Maybe people saw her drinking at the wedding, but they had no way to prove what her BAC was.
I would say their biggest mistake was the cover-up. It was an accident, EXCEPT that the driver was drunk, so she probably would have been the one to take the fall. Not for murder, but for something.
But once they had covered it up, it looked more like Noah and/or Allison would be involved. I think they didn't know much about criminal investigations and they panicked.
I think Cole was considering Joanie in that scene, maybe not realizing it, but maybe subconsciously wondering. I don't really think he was suspecting Alison--why would he? From everything he saw, she was being nicer to Scottie than Cole was that night. I don't see how he would think she'd have a motive to kill Scottie.
